x86_64-linux-gnu-gccgo command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

In Ubuntu x86_64-linux-gnu-gccgo is provided by gccgo package.

gccgo is:

This is the GNU Go compiler, which compiles Go on platforms supported by the gcc compiler. It uses the gcc backend to generate optimized code.

This is a dependency package providing the default GNU Go compiler.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install gccgo

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install gccgo.

sudo apt -y install gccgo

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install gccgo
