tcltk-depends command not found

Introduction

tcltk-depends: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: tcltk-depends: command not found

In Ubuntu tcltk-depends is provided by tcl-dev package.

tcl-dev is:

Tcl is a powerful, easy-to-use, embeddable, cross-platform interpreted scripting language.

This package is a dependency package, which depends on Debian’s default Tcl version (currently 8.6).

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install tcl-dev

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install tcl-dev.

sudo apt -y install tcl-dev

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install tcl-dev
