systemd-hwdb command not found

systemd-hwdb: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: systemd-hwdb: command not found

In Ubuntu systemd-hwdb is provided by udev package.

udev is:

udev is a daemon which dynamically creates and removes device nodes from /dev/, handles hotplug events and loads drivers at boot time.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install udev

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install udev.

sudo apt -y install udev

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install udev
