rarpd command not found

rarpd: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: rarpd: command not found

In Ubuntu rarpd is provided by rarpd package.

rarpd is:

RARP is a protocol which allows individual devices on a network to get their IP addresses assigned based on their MAC addresses.

You have use of this daemon only if you have on your local network machines like diskless Sun boxes, or other netbooting devices.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install rarpd

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install rarpd.

sudo apt -y install rarpd

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install rarpd
