How To Fix kproplog: command not found in Ubuntu / Debian / Kali Linux / Raspbian

In Ubuntu kproplog is provided by krb5-kdc package.

krb5-kdc is:

Kerberos is a system for authenticating users and services on a network. Kerberos is a trusted third-party service. That means that there is a third party (the Kerberos server) that is trusted by all the entities on the network (users and services, usually called “principals”).

This is the MIT reference implementation of Kerberos V5.

This package contains the Kerberos key server (KDC). The KDC manages all authentication credentials for a Kerberos realm, holds the master keys for the realm, and responds to authentication requests. This package should be installed on both master and slave KDCs.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install krb5-kdc

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install krb5-kdc.

sudo apt -y install krb5-kdc

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install krb5-kdc
