gtypist command not found

Introduction

gtypist: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: gtypist: command not found

In Ubuntu gtypist is provided by gtypist package.

gtypist is:

Displays exercise lines, measures your typing speed and accuracy, and displays the results. Two exercise types are possible: drills and speed tests.

You need fortune cookies (fortune-cookie-db) to use typefortune. There are several languages specific cookie packages (fortunes-*).

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install gtypist

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install gtypist.

sudo apt -y install gtypist

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install gtypist
