gmetad command not found

Introduction

When you run more command in linux terminal / console, you get the following error message

gmetad: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: gmetad: command not found

In Ubuntu gmetad is provided by gmetad package.

gmetad is:

Ganglia is a scalable, real-time cluster monitoring environment that collects cluster statistics in an open and well-defined XML format.

This package contains the ‘gmetad’ daemon, which collects information from ganglia monitor clients and writes it to RRD databases.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install gmetad

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install gmetad.

sudo apt -y install gmetad

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install gmetad
