ftpmirror command not found

ftpmirror: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: ftpmirror: command not found

In Ubuntu ftpmirror is provided by ftpmirror package.

ftpmirror is:

ftpmirror is an utility to copy directory hierarchy (usually called ‘mirror’) using FTP protocol.

A similar perl script exists, whose name is ‘mirror’, but ftpmirror requires less memory than mirror.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install ftpmirror

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install ftpmirror.

sudo apt -y install ftpmirror

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install ftpmirror
