edid-decode command not found

In Ubuntu edid-decode is provided by edid-decode package.

edid-decode is:

EDID is binary data encoded in the monitor firmware, which the kernel exposes via /sys/devices/…/drm/card*/card*/edid. edid-decode renders this binary data into a human-readable text form.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install edid-decode

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install edid-decode.

sudo apt -y install edid-decode

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install edid-decode
