ccache command not found

ccache: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: ccache: command not found

In Ubuntu ccache is provided by ccache package.

ccache is:

Ccache is a compiler cache. It speeds up recompilation by caching previous compilations and detecting when the same compilation is being done again.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install ccache

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install ccache.

sudo apt -y install ccache

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install ccache
