bcc-lua command not found

Introduction

When you run more command in linux terminal / console, you get the following error message

bcc-lua: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: bcc-lua: command not found

In Ubuntu bcc-lua is provided by bpfcc-lua package.

bpfcc-lua is:

BPF Compiler Collection (BCC) is a toolkit for creating efficient kernel tracing and manipulation programs

It makes use of extended BPF (Berkeley Package Filter) and provides tools for BPF based Linux IO analysis, networking, monitoring and more

This package provides the Lua bindings

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install bpfcc-lua

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install bpfcc-lua.

sudo apt -y install bpfcc-lua

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install bpfcc-lua
