asciidoctor command not found

asciidoctor: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: asciidoctor: command not found

In Ubuntu asciidoctor is provided by asciidoctor package.

Asciidoctor is a pure Ruby processor for converting AsciiDoc source files and strings into HTML 5, DocBook 4.5, DocBook 5.0 and other formats.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install asciidoctor

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install asciidoctor.

sudo apt -y install asciidoctor

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install asciidoctor
