arcls command not found

Introduction

When you run more command in linux terminal / console, you get the following error message

arcls: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: arcls: command not found

In Ubuntu arcls is provided by nordugrid-arc-client package.

nordugrid-arc-client is:

NorduGrid is a collaboration aiming at development, maintenance and support of the middleware, known as the Advanced Resource Connector (ARC).

This client package contains all the CLI tools that are needed to operate with x509 proxies, submit and manage jobs and handle data transfers.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install nordugrid-arc-client

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install nordugrid-arc-client.

sudo apt -y install nordugrid-arc-client

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install nordugrid-arc-client
