In Ubuntu afsd is provided by openafs-client package.

openafs-client is:

AFS is a distributed filesystem allowing cross-platform sharing of files among multiple computers. Facilities are provided for access control, authentication, backup and administrative management.

This package provides basic client support to mount and manipulate AFS. If your site uses Kerberos v5 authentication for AFS, you will also want to install openafs-krb5.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install openafs-client

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install openafs-client.

sudo apt -y install openafs-client

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install openafs-client
