advmng command not found

advmng: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: advmng: command not found

In Ubuntu advmng is provided by advancecomp package.

advancecomp is:

AdvanceCOMP contains recompression utilities for your .zip archives, .png images, .mng video clips and .gz files.

For recompression, 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.com) is used, which generally gives 5-10% more compression than zLib.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install advancecomp

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install advancecomp.

sudo apt -y install advancecomp

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install advancecomp
