zabbix_sender command not found

Introduction

When you run more command in linux terminal / console, you get the following error message

zabbix_sender: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: zabbix_sender: command not found

In Ubuntu zabbix_sender is provided by zabbix-agent package.

zabbix-agent is:

high level monitoring of IT services;

This package provides the software needed to monitor a host using a Zabbix agent.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install zabbix-agent

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install zabbix-agent.

sudo apt -y install zabbix-agent

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install zabbix-agent
