wixl command not found

wixl: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: wixl: command not found

In Ubuntu wixl is provided by wixl package.

wixl is:

wixl builds Windows Installer (.msi) packages from XML documents, in a similar fashion to the WiX toolset.

This package includes wixl-heat, which builds WiX XML fragments from lists of files and directories.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install wixl

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install wixl.

sudo apt -y install wixl

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install wixl
