simple_dcraw command not found

simple_dcraw: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: simple_dcraw: command not found

In Ubuntu simple_dcraw is provided by libraw-bin package.

libraw-bin is:

LibRaw is a library for reading RAW files obtained from digital photo cameras (CRW/CR2, NEF, RAF, DNG, and others).

This package contains some tools to manipulate RAW files.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install libraw-bin

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install libraw-bin.

sudo apt -y install libraw-bin

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install libraw-bin
