shairplay command not found

shairplay: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: shairplay: command not found

In Ubuntu shairplay is provided by shairplay package.

shairplay is:

Free portable AirPlay server implementation similar to ShairPort.

Currently only AirPort Express emulation is supported.

This package installs the shairplay server executable.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install shairplay

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install shairplay.

sudo apt -y install shairplay

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install shairplay
