grunt command not found

grunt: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: grunt: command not found

In Ubuntu grunt is provided by node-grunt-cli package.

node-grunt-cli is:

Grunt is a task runner to performing repetitive tasks like minification, compilation, unit testing, linting, etc, on JavaScript applications.

This module is a script to load and run Grunt itself.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install node-grunt-cli

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install node-grunt-cli.

sudo apt -y install node-grunt-cli

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install node-grunt-cli
