gnome-dvb-control command not found

Introduction

When you run more command in linux terminal / console, you get the following error message

gnome-dvb-control: command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: gnome-dvb-control: command not found

In Ubuntu gnome-dvb-control is provided by gnome-dvb-client package.

gnome-dvb-client is:

GNOME DVB Daemon is a GStreamer based daemon to setup your DVB devices, record and/or watch TV shows and browse EPG.

This package contains the Python GTK+ client, which speaks to the daemon via DBUS.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install gnome-dvb-client

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install gnome-dvb-client.

sudo apt -y install gnome-dvb-client

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install gnome-dvb-client
