featureCounts command not found

Introduction

How To Fix featureCounts: command not found in Ubuntu / Debian / Kali Linux / Raspbian

In Ubuntu featureCounts is provided by subread package.

subread is:

Subread aligner can be used to align both gDNA-seq and RNA-seq reads. Subjunc aligner was specified designed for the detection of exon-exon junction. For the mapping of RNA-seq reads, Subread performs local alignments and Subjunc performs global alignments.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install subread

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install subread.
