evtxexport command not found

or when using sudo you get the following error message

sudo: evtxexport: command not found

In Ubuntu evtxexport is provided by libevtx-utils package.

libevtx-utils is:

libevtx is a library to access the Windows XML Event Log (EVTX) format.

This package contains tools to access data stored in EVT log files: evtxexport, evtxinfo.

To fix this problem, we can install more using the command below.

sudo apt-get -y install libevtx-utils

This command might take some time to finish depending on your machine internet connection.

You can also use apt command to install libevtx-utils.

sudo apt -y install libevtx-utils

Or if you have aptitude installed you can use the following command.

sudo aptitude install libevtx-utils
